I think I always knew I wanted to be a photographer, if you discount my stint cleaning out the fuel tanks on a submarine one roasting summer, and another as a Christmas tree lopper one misspent summer in Bungendore.

At school in Sydney while my religious studies and Latin teachers despaired, my creative strengths grew and I was fortunate enough to have access to a dark room and a potting wheel, leading to my subsequent joint honours degree in photo media and ceramics at Sydney College of the Arts.

I took the assisting route when I graduated, and after a few years broke out on my own and established my business and client base. Over the years, my commissions have ranged from fashion shoots, to documentary reportage, to cook books, to big budget advertising campaigns. The variety is one of the many things I love about this job, albeit not something I consider a ‘job’, it’s more like a way of life, an interpretation of how I see the world.

These days I specialise in lifestyle photography – food, travel and portraiture, interiors and action and adventure.

My latest subject is my beautiful little daughter, Grace. And I have my first pin hole camera looked out to give to her.
